Red Dead Redemption 2 for PC is a free-roaming action game set in an open world, with some elements taking place in third-person and others in first-person perspective. You will play as Arthur Morgan, a member of the Van der Linde gang.

The game will guide you through key story arcs with Arthur completing missions and achieving various objectives as he progresses through the main storyline.

However, once a mission is completed, Arthur is free to roam the open world, exploring new areas, and will occasionally stumble upon his next mission that he can complete before returning to his starting point where he can then continue exploring.

Despite the well-defined story arcs, the game is heavily player-driven, where your decisions will determine the outcome. You can linger along each journey, capturing criminals, helping those in need by unlocking side missions, or you can skip ahead, ignoring all the NPCs and heading straight to your next destination.

Given how much the game takes its aesthetics into consideration, it's no surprise that a huge amount of detail has been added to make it the best-looking game possible, with as many changes of scenery as possible.

Shadows and reflections are more detailed and realistic than ever before, with even sharper resolution and higher definition. Trees, grass, and snow look more authentic than ever, with subtle changes in sound that help give a realistic impression of the terrain you're playing on.

Movement is also more responsive, drawing a weapon, walking, riding, and running are more authentic than ever.

New features to keep an eye on

Horses: There are new horse breeds you can capture, tame, and ride, including the fast Warped Brindle Arabian; the Andalusian Perlino, excellent for hunting; the beautiful and agile Red Chestnut Arabian; and many more. Weapons: There are several weapons available in this game that were only available in the online version of the first game, including the High Roller and La Mat revolvers, while the M1899 pistol is completely new. Talismans: Keep an eye out for gadgets and amulets that will be very helpful, including a shark tooth that will help you and your horse work as a team, a turtle shell that permanently increases health recovery speed, and a crow's beak that increases the amount of ammunition looted.
