- The LSPD reports a massive upsurge in violent crime in the Los Sueños metropolitan area. Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) teams have been dispatched to respond to several scenes involving high-risk hostage situations, live bomb threats, barricaded suspects, and other criminal activity. Citizens are advised to exercise caution when traveling in the city or to stay home.

It's been noted that while Los Sueños is still seen as a city where riches can be found, for many more, the finer things in life are becoming increasingly unattainable. "The city is sprawling with cramped high-rise apartments and decaying affordable housing, which have been exploited by the underground criminal underworld like a malevolent parasite," says Chief Galo Álvarez. "In a city where people are simply trying to survive, the lawful action of the LSPD and the LSPD SWAT team remains an integral force that prevents the thin social fabric of this city from fraying under this chaotic tension."

In response to the rising wave of violent crime in Los Sueños, LSPD Chief Álvarez secured the unwavering support of David "Judge" Beaumont as commander of the LSPD SWAT team. Shortly after this announcement, the LSPD also confirmed it was actively recruiting additional talent to join this specialized tactical policing unit, tasked with restoring peace to the city.

“This assignment is not for the faint of heart,” comments Commander Beaumont. “Extremists, crooked politicians, countless weapons, human trafficking, illicit drugs, and pornography… the world of policing in Los Sueños is fraught with real, harsh realities—realities the average person doesn’t necessarily have to deal with. These are realities you and your team will have to navigate within the proper confines of the law, or face the consequences and make matters worse.”

The Los Sueños Police Department has officially released new details on Commander “Judge” Beaumont’s updated assignment with the LSPD SWAT team:

New expectations:

Whether this is your first time in Los Sueños or not, the city has changed, and so have the tools and methods we use to conduct our work. The hangouts you may have seen or heard about are being reimagined, as are the angles we use to approach every call. Additionally, we've received reports identifying at least four new high-risk police precincts that we suspect may require future tactical interventions, in addition to at least four existing high-risk precincts that have undergone significant disruption.

Take command:

The role of the LSPD SWAT commander is to assemble their team from a large roster of unique talents, issue tactical orders, meticulously plan, and execute missions. Commanders are obligated to conduct each mission with integrity and care for the mental and physical health of their team. Officers with an unaddressed deteriorating mental state may be unable to adequately perform their duties or even feel compelled to leave the force. Incapacitated officers may be temporarily unavailable for missions, with the tragic prospect of death leading to a permanent loss. For SWAT commanders in unusual circumstances based on their individual choices, deadly mistakes can lead to their permanent demise.

Improving the quality of the SWAT team:

The long-awaited improvement in SWAT training procedures, tactics, and experience within the LSPD has led to an overall increase in the quality and quantity of officers on our roster. Expanded tactical versatility allows our officers to face any challenge with renewed confidence, seamlessly blending coordination and independence. Additional core training is also now available for SWAT members to maintain fundamental knowledge and muscle memory.

Equipment and customization:

We have access to the best weapons and equipment the LSPD has to offer to fulfill our exceptionally dangerous role, including many new acquisitions. However, customization isn't limited to the equipment we use. Through close-knit camaraderie as you perform extraordinary actions alongside your team, you'll earn the clothes you wear, the patches on your sleeves, the artwork that might adorn your skin, and potentially even the timepiece on your wrist. Finally, we've overhauled our headquarters' training facilities to better test our gear before going out on duty.
