Along the way, they will immerse themselves in splendid mythical landscapes and face fearsome enemies in the form of Norse gods and monsters. The threat of Ragnarök draws ever closer. Kratos and Atreus must choose between the safety of their family and that of the kingdoms.

Atreus searches for information that can help him understand "Loki's" prophecy and the role that awaits him in Ragnarök. Kratos must decide whether to remain chained by the fear of repeating his mistakes or to free himself from the past to become the father Atreus needs.
