Description

The video opens with the strains of Bonnie Tyler's "Total Eclipse of the Heart," a dated but sweet song that perfectly contrasts with the situation we find ourselves in. A pickup truck carrying three of our companions, one of whom is injured, is slowly sinking into the depths of the sea. The only way to save themselves? Break the window, but this means losing the wounded comrade, who is unable to swim. Just before the dramatic decision, the camera cuts back to the beginning of the mission to show us, step by step, how it ended in tragedy.

Thus, all of a sudden, we find ourselves in a decidedly more familiar situation: a series of rather sparse interiors through which we move cautiously alongside two companions. A brief section of pure walking, but one that is absolutely indicative of the almost photorealistic impact the new graphics engine is able to deliver. The laborious management of dynamic lighting that the previous version of the graphics engine had manifested seems definitively obsolete, and despite finding ourselves within a particularly enclosed environment, we can fully glimpse the potential of the new engine in this regard.

Required

minimum *

  • OS: Windows 8 32-bit
  • Processor: Processor (AMD): 2.8 GHz Athlon X2 processor (Intel): 2.4 GHz Core 2 Two
  • Memory: 4 GB RAM
  • Graphics Card: Graphics Card (AMD): AMD Radeon HD 3870 Graphics Card (NVIDIA): Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT
  • Network: Broadband Internet connection
  • Storage Space: 30 GB available space

These capabilities are fully demonstrated when, to defend a comrade on the street, we find ourselves shooting from an elevated position (through a window) offering a wide, ultra-detailed field of view. A firefight is enhanced by grenades that destroy a series of cars parked on the side of the road and a portion of a nearby shop. These are signs of greater care in the gradual destruction of the environment, even in single-player, not just in multiplayer as in the third installment.
